illustration Friday: monster

I have a monster under my bed and he looks like this! Most of the time he nibbles crumbs and dust bunny, though he prefers leftover mexican and thai food. (anything spicy will do) his colorful eyes can put anyone to sleep, especially when you have problem sleeping. Eventhough he lives under the bed, he loves to sit on the roof gazing at stars. (he flies up there with his stumpy orange wings) You can invite him over anytime, he's a great company and can beat you on any board games. (and don't forget to feed him thai food ;)

Playing with perspective...

We rode our boards down to the river today, it was nice but a little too chilly. Got a chance to play with perspective a bit. I still can't quite get it yet, or maybe I can blame on my camera since there's no zoomer..... :P

Illustration Friday: insect

ladybug..... my favorite insect in the world!

The zoo...

i love animals, but I hate to see them at the zoo. i just want to cry seeing them in a little man-made space... no freedom... no lives... everything is just wrong about caging them. well, what can you do when you have kids! they love to go there, it's fun and exciting! that where my son and i went today. he had lots of fun while i took some sad pix of the animals. polar bear staring at the sky and cried, monkey hiding in the cave, zebra just plopped to the ground, hippo was restless from all the kids yelling, gibbon was begging for popcorn...

There's something about the rooster that I think very beautiful. So here's my glamour I did awhile ago. I don't have much time to draw anything lately, there's a pile of work to do around here! Alright, back to work now, thanks for looking and have a great day :)

Hello 2006!

Wishing everyone a happy new year! Have fun tonight with people you love and respect. I won't be going out anywhere, I'm just happy staying home with my boys! For years, I've never thought about setting a new year's resolution at all. Though this year is different, I'm going to do something new and challenging for myself.....I'm going to learn Mandarin! To honor my 96 years old grandmother who came from China long long time ago and it will be useful when I go there ;) Anyway, what's your new year's resolutions?

Happy Holidays!

It's that time of year again...people are out shopping everywhere. Yesterday, this one lady was driving so fast in the parking lot on the wrong lane and almost hit our car. She looked so stressed out, maybe she couldn't find the right present or something. Hope everyone out there is not going mad consuming things. I created this card for hipstercards.com the other day. Have a happy holiday and stay warm! :)

Slide incident

Having a three year old, like having an adorable bear cub in a fine crystal shop, can be quite unnerving. There's also nothing quite like that feeling when you turn away from them for a split second and turn back to see them begin to fall backward off the top of a ten foot tall slide. Everything is in slow motion, you reach for them but deep down you know there's nothing you can do... but scream and hope there's a nice soft bed of freshly raked fall leaves down below. That's exactly what happened today to my son, and yes, there was a cushion of leaves which broke his head-first fall. He's alright, only got a tiny bruise on his knee. We're very lucky this time....
